If you’re in Grand Cayman this October pack your appetite and cocktail shaker for this month’s vibrant culinary calendar. Cayman turns into a foodie’s paradise the entire month thanks to two major events: Restaurant Month and Cayman Cocktail Week. Whether you’re craving gourmet meals, comfort food, global cuisine or creative cocktails, these two events will deliver!

Cayman Restaurant Month

Coming back for its 12th year, Restaurant Month takes place the entire month of October to celebrate Cayman’s dynamic restaurant scene with prix-fixe menus. Not only do they offer superb value because of their reduced pricing, but it’s a chance to sample the island’s local and international cuisines. Many residents take advantage of Restaurant Month because it allows them to try a restaurant they’ve always wanted to visit, to be a supporter of restaurants they visit often and to visit restaurants that have just opened.

There are over 55 participating restaurants this year with each one offering specialty menus at fixed prices that range from CI$20-30 for lunch and CI$30-50 for dinner. If you’re a visitor to the island it’s the perfect time to visit participating restaurants and stay in your travel budget.

You can glance at all the menus on the Restaurant Month website, and there are few I am excited about! If you’re looking for Caribbean-inspired fare with a seaside view visit David’s Restaurant at Morritts in East End for their Coconut Rundown Snapper or stay in George Town and try Cayman Cabana’s Peppered Steak. To visit one of the iconic restaurants in my last blog, you can enjoy Beef Wellington at Ristorante Pappagallo or Seafood Curry from Lobster Pot. For cheap eats visit Burger Shack for a Burger & Fries combo or Murph’s Kitchen for their popular Birria Tacos. A special shoutout must go to my favourite from last year, Vines2Ocean (V2O), an award-winning wine bar with charcuterie and sushi, and it comes with a glass of wine.

Taking it a step further, Restaurant Month is hosting their Signature Brunches, and they’ve increased it to 2 brunches each weekend throughout October. Brunch is an event that is beloved by Cayman residents for their all-you-can-eat and –drink options. The Restaurant Month brunches are a unique experience and need to be booked in advance, so visit their website and social media pages for the dates and locations.

Being in Grand Cayman this October means tourist and residents can enjoy what’s on offer, which could mean your plans include a leisurely lunch, a sunset dinner or driving to a hidden gem.

Cayman Cocktail Week

For those evenings when you want more than just dinner, Cayman Cocktail Week needs to be added to your list. In 2025, their main events take place between October 23-30 and features their cocktail-paired dinner at Agua, brunch at The Kitchen and entertaining cocktail-competitions like ‘Speed Rack’ where bartenders race to beat the clock and raise funds for the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer foundation. A personal favourite event to attend is the ‘Mad Tea Party’ event at the Marriott. Not only do you get classic high tea snacks and a tea of your choice, but they serve Botanist gin cocktails and feature a local creative, with guests learning about watercolour painting this year.

Not here for the main week of events? Not a problem. You can get involved in Cayman Cocktail Week by ordering from their turquoise branded menus found in participating restaurants and bars island-wide throughout October. Don’t be surprised if you choose a restaurant that is participating in both Restaurant Month and Cayman Cocktail Week, just consider yourself lucky!
