Hide & Seek Geo-Cache Tour

If you’re looking for a unique adventure that takes you across the island, the CaymanVisitors’ Hide & Seek GeoTour is just the ticket! It’s a self-driving tour full of discovery.
This adventure combines the internationally popular Geocaching app with a beautifully designed souvenir booklet—your personal “passport”—to help you discover hidden boxes scattered across Grand Cayman (and beyond). Each time you find a hidden geo-cache, grab a sticker inside the box and mark your progress on the map inside the booklet. Along the way, you’ll uncover not just the caches themselves, but also new attractions, points of interest, and local sponsors highlighted in the guide.
Passports can be purchased online and picked up at the Cayman Visitors office on West Bay Road across from Governor’s Beach. When you collect your passport, you’ll also receive a collectible wooden Geocoin to kick off your journey. From there, simply follow the map and use the app to track down the hidden “treasure boxes.” Inside each cache you’ll find a logbook where you can write your name and the date of your discovery.
In the traditional geocaching spirit, some boxes may include small trinkets you can swap (think buttons, charms, or tokens). While trading is optional, it adds an extra layer of fun if you’d like to join in.
The tour is perfect for first-time visitors wanting to get to know the island, as well as seasoned travelers eager to explore spots they might have missed before. You can take it slow with just a couple of caches, or challenge yourself to find all 16 spread across Grand Cayman. Stops include Barkers National Park, Beacon Farms, the Blow Holes, and more.
When my husband and I tried the GeoTour, we enjoyed how it opened our eyes to new corners of the island—even though we’ve visited Cayman many times before. For the first time, I saw where people take off for kite surfing at Barkers National Park, and we stumbled across a beautiful mural in East End that we’d never noticed before. Plus we found a locally beloved smoothie truck. Those little discoveries made the experience even more special, and they’re the kinds of moments you’d miss without the treasure hunt guiding your way.
Find at least eight caches, and you can return to the Cayman Visitors office for a special souvenir metal coin.
For those looking to extend the adventure, the GeoTour continues with six caches on Little Cayman and seven on Cayman Brac. There’s also a bonus Kid’s Passport, Art Passport, and sponsor stops along the way that add even more rewards. Completing the passport earns a coveted trackable tag, while receipts from sponsors can be redeemed for swag like a t-shirt or tote bag.
The Hike & Seek GeoTour is part treasure hunt, part island exploration, and all adventure. With its combination of geocaching technology, a keepsake passport, and unique island destinations, it’s a fun and flexible activity for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re chasing all the caches or just enjoying a few stops, you’ll leave with lasting memories, new discoveries, and a souvenir or two to remind you of your journey.
I'm holding onto our GeoTour Passports in hopes that we'll get to visit the island again and find more of the hidden geocaches. I especially want to head out to the one at Beacon Farms as I've never been. (They're closed on Saturday and Sunday and that happened to be when we did our exploring with the passport.) So fingers crossed we can find the cache at Beacon Farms and other spots we missed on a future visit.
