If you’re in the Cayman Islands during the 20-25 May 2025, you’re in for a treat! Cayman Art Week (CAW) 2025 is in its 5th year, and has become one of the island’s most vibrant cultural events. Whether you’re a seasoned art collector, a casual enthusiast, or just looking for something inspiring to do on island, this is a week you won’t want to miss!

What is Cayman Art Week?

Over this 5 day period, a unique side of Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac come alive that celebrates artists of every style. With late night galleries, curated bus tours, pop-up exhibits and the opportunity to chat with the artists in person, you have to add this to your list. In Grand Cayman, there are over 30 venues participating, including art galleries, hotels, restaurants, and studios.

This year promises to have an even more dynamic lineup, with events happening across George Town, Seven Mile Beach, West Bay, the Eastern districts and Cayman Brac. Each location offers its own special vibe, allowing you to explore our districts while diving into a world of creativity. You’ll discover stunning paintings, digital renderings, vast sculptures and mixed media pieces all week long.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can look forward to:

  • Gallery Nights: These events take you on a route to visit multiple galleries in one night. They have the route mapped out with the participating studios and exhibits, and you can choose to take the free hop-on-hop-off buses that loop around George Town or Seven Mile Beach. The Eastern Districts bus tour takes place on Saturday morning and costs CI$10 as the galleries are more spread out i.e. not walkable. A new addition is the bus tour around Cayman Brac, which is a wonderful addition for our sister island artists. These are perfect all-in-one options and some locations choose to serve refreshments and have the artists on site to chat.
  • Artist Talks: These are specialty events that range from Q&A’s, panel discussions and lunchtime lectures where chosen artists provide insight into their process, inspiration and more. Perfect for art connoisseurs who have a favourite style or artists that want to learn more.
  • Studio Tours: Get behind the scenes and step into the studios to see where the magic happens. These intimate tours offer personal insights into the creative process for typically private spaces.
  • Pop-Up Exhibits: Don’t be surprised if you find art in unexpected places—from hotel lobbies, restaurants, retail stores and even outdoor spaces. Art is honestly everywhere during CAW which is what makes this such an amazing few days.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of CAW

  1. Plan Ahead: Check the full event schedule online at caymanartweek.com and map out your must-see exhibits, galleries and events. Some of the experiences overlap so choose what suits your fancy.
  2. Dress Light: Cayman’s tropical climate means breathable fabrics and comfy shoes will serve you well, particularly when you do the hop-on-hop-off bus tours that still involves walking to multiple studios around each stop.
  3. Support Local: Many artworks are available for sale, so if something catches your eye, consider taking a piece of Cayman home with you. The pieces range in size and price so there is something for every budget.

Whether you’re exploring solo, with a partner, or with the whole family, Cayman Art Week 2025 is a perfect way to immerse yourself in the local culture in a fresh way. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the island through the lens of its most creative minds.
